'Life is one fool thing after another whereas love is two fool things after each other.'The Happy PrinceInspired by the Irish fairy tales of his childhood, Oscar Wilde's imaginative story-telling incorporates a variety of genres - from mystery to fantasy and the supernatural. This collection includes three of such stories: 'The Happy Prince', a tender story about friendship and compassion; 'The Remarkable Rocket', a cautionary tale about a deluded, self-important firework; and Lord Arthur Savile's Crime and Other Stories, a comic mystery about an ominous prediction. Wilde's aesthetic preoccupations are evident in every line. Witty, wise, big-hearted, and sometimes melancholy, these writings are a testament to his standing as a literary genius of the Victorian age.ABOUT THE SERIES: The Arcturus Classics series brings together high-quality paperback editions of classics works, presented with contemporary graphic cover designs.
