Written to honour the life of the eponymous abolitionist and activist, ‘John Brown’ is the transcript of a speech delivered by Douglass in 1860. While some saw Brown as a radical and a criminal, Douglass saw his friend as a man prepared to sacrifice his life so that others might be free. Passionate and powerful, the speech not only extolls Brown’s virtues, but also highlights the political and social issues faced by African Americans at the time. ´John Brown´ is an important read for anyone with an interest in social justice and injustice. Frederick Douglass (1818-1995) was an American abolitionist and author. Born into slavery in Maryland, he was of African, European, and Native American descent. He was separated from his mother at a young age and lived with his grandmother until he was moved to another plantation. Frederick was taught his alphabet by the wife of one of his owners, a knowledge he passed on to other slaves. In 1838, he successfully escaped slavery by jumping on a north-bound train. After less than 24 hours, he was in New York and free. The same year, he married the woman that had inspired his run for freedom and started working actively as a social reformer, orator, statesman, and women’s rights defender. He remains most known today for his 1845 autobiography ""Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave."" saga egmont N new in stock ebook N N N N N N 124 CZK N N 784 N N N N N N N 978 1 13227 3001 44742 john-brown-frederick-douglass Knihy knihy d1cd76bb9de817284d4d47da397d54410ea7094f79313b0acf013e8e4d95658f ae63c2f1cc16a6582ab77d559c4d0f89c1bdc326bb578838e7d3313c3597a1cf 95d73723135f7cb0f285e5315779c6c13f21c10726b0bcce21c052a049fa0bd5 N N 2026-03-12 04:16:59 124 0 689693135 Bodies on Fire: A Collection of Erotic Short Stories - LUST authors https://www.kqzyfj.com/click-00cj_pid_token00-13717911?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.knihydobrovsky.cz%2Fe-kniha%2Fbodies-on-fire-a-collection-of-erotic-short-stories-689693135 https://www.knihydobrovsky.cz/thumbs/book-detail-fancy-box/mod_eshop/produkty/b/bodies-on-fire-a-collection-of-erotic-short-stories-9990003843555-6.jpg ‘Bodies on Fire: A Collection of Erotic Short Stories’ is a compilation from Lust that explores threesomes and group sex. The only person who happens to meet her high expectations is Tartuffe. While Tartuffe's true character of being 'the Hypocrite' is slowly revealed to the audience, Madame Pernelle remains blissfully unaware of the fraud who exploits his victims by pretending to be pious. Madame Pernelle is on the point of leaving many times, but can't leave without having the last word and finds herself coming back to admonish or criticize one more person. Molière's ´Tartuffe, or The Hypocrite´ puts a satirical spin on religious hypocrisy and will delight fans of Shakespeare's ´The Taming of the Shrew´. Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known by his stage name Molière, was a French playwright, actor, and poet. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest writers in the French language and world literature. Molière wrote comedies, farces, tragicomedies, and comédie-ballets. His plays have been translated into every major living language and are performed at the Comédie-Française more often than those of any other playwright today. He was born into a prosperous family and studied at the Collège de Clermont which made him well-suited for a life in the theatre. Molière spent thirteen years as an itinerant actor, which helped him polish his comedic abilities. While acting, he began writing, combining Commedia dell'arte elements with the more refined French comedy. saga egmont N new in stock ebook N N N N N N 194 CZK N N 784 N N N N N N N 978 1 13227 3001 44742 tartuffe-or-the-hypocrite-jean-baptiste-poquelin-moliere Knihy knihy d6cfab769ab20fb494d256ab2cdb300f14cfc058e0fe0997aad3a05b03d783b0 671cc8780d4efe55e4c8ecc405c3c0c8d9fd43df365dda2cda2246152a5544b4 a2bcbc2d1a7205a58107afe21b0e6fbad9986cee8da91eb9d54858026bc2bb95 N N 2026-03-12 04:16:59 194 0 689690486 Why is the Negro Lynched? - Frederick Douglass https://www.kqzyfj.com/click-00cj_pid_token00-13717911?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.knihydobrovsky.cz%2Fe-kniha%2Fwhy-is-the-negro-lynched-689690486 https://www.knihydobrovsky.cz/thumbs/book-detail-fancy-box/mod_eshop/produkty/w/why-is-the-negro-lynched-9990003843463-5.jpg "Written just a year before his death, ‘Why is the Negro Lynched?’ is one of Douglass’ most moving and passionate speeches. Still sadly-pertinent today, his skill as a wordsmith is captured in passages that discuss everything from law and respect for human life to religion and the necessity for belonging. An expert orator, Douglass presents his arguments as though they were part of a court case, deftly switching between the roles of prosecution and defence, before passing sentence against the white establishment of the time. The first essay, ‘My Escape from Slavery’, details his daring bid for freedom from a plantation as well as his experiences on reaching New York. The second, ‘Reconstruction’, is an open letter to the white readers of the ‘Atlantic Monthly’ magazine, highlighting the importance of extending the vote to African Americans and the need for equal rights. The two essays are startling pieces of writing, with both documenting the struggles faced by African Americans at the time. ´Two Articles´ will delight any person already familiar with Douglass' body of work. The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave was published ten years before in 1845, while The Life and Times of Frederick Douglass was published twenty-five years later. Frederick Douglass was born a slave and escaped to freedom in his twenties. My Bondage and My Freedom (1855) was written after he had established himself as a newspaper editor. In this book, Douglass expands upon his previous accounts of his years as a slave. With great psychological penetration, he probes the longterm and corrosive effects of slavery and comments upon his active resistance to the segregation he encounters in the North. saga egmont N new in stock ebook N N N N N N 333 CZK N N 784 N N N N N N N 978 1 13227 3001 44742 my-bondage-and-my-freedom-frederick-douglass Knihy knihy 6d7c53df1408ea4324f0dac738f259bd4dcea390a0e6e200647308ab71cbda82 9e0a4c744ab2280dab3ba7dc22e131224cd6fdbd441c44e2ee862e439361920f 376b31f7318ee56df53c2d57237d14100360e1700d0ef6b4b44e052b1a8b822a N N 2026-03-12 04:16:59 333 0 689691933 Experience is Sexy - A Collection of Erotic Short Stories - LUST authors https://www.kqzyfj.com/click-00cj_pid_token00-13717911?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.knihydobrovsky.cz%2Fe-kniha%2Fexperience-is-sexy-a-collection-of-erotic-short-stories-689691933 https://www.knihydobrovsky.cz/thumbs/book-detail-fancy-box/mod_eshop/produkty/e/experience-is-sexy-a-collection-of-erotic-short-stories-9990003843517-5.jpg ‘Experience is Sexy - A Collection of Erotic Short Stories’ is an anthology of erotica stories that prove that when it comes to sex, age and experience really are sexy.
