Satoshi Kon is a multiple award-winning director and a former assistant to Katsuhiro Otomo. Before he went on to direct nearly half a dozen movies through the ''90s and ''00s, he cut his teeth as a comic artist. This collection features his first comic Toriko, the 1984 short that won that year''s Chiba Tetsuya Award for the Best New Comic Artist of the Year.
